:: Programme: Wednesday, September 27th 2006 ::

:: SOMETIMES - Director Johny Burns - 4 mins ::
From the person who brought you the sexy ultra-short, Remote, this animated music video tells the story of how a Frankenstein-style monster rises to fame and falls from grace. A modern fable of sex, drugs and bunny rabbits.

:: '67 BORDERS - Director Shane Davey - 4 mins ::
Powerful and moving documentary completed shortly before the recent fighting in Lebanon in which a group of 5-year-olds living in a Palestinian refugee camp talk about their lives and future. The children's voices are accompanied by images filmed in Beirut and along the Israeli border, revealing the hardships of life for Palestinians in the occupied territories.

:: HOT KISS - Director Steven Glashier - 3 mins ::
Hot new music video featuring a gorgeously sleazy Juliette Lewis, A-list Hollywood actress and lead singer of Juliette & The Licks who is currently wowing London audiences in Sam Shepard's West End hit, Fool For Love.

:: DRIP - George McKenzie - 6 mins ::
This well-made horror film opens with a young man experiencing a nightmare in front of his TV (no, he wasn't watching Celebrity Love Island). Meanwhile, in another part of town, a young girl is discovering that things are not what they seem as the man's nightmare becomes her reality (she gets invited onto CLI - only joking).

:: MISS PRICE IS RIGHT - Director Thomas Rambo - 8 mins ::
Exciting and violent thriller filmed in Hawaii in which a beautiful woman is picked off the street by a drug gang and taken to where her fiancee is being held captive. Their victim owes a large amount of money (which he doesn't have) and she must find a way of repaying the debt before sundown or else he will die.

:: CAN'T WALK AWAY - Director Shane Davey - 4 mins ::
Stunning music video for Hey Negrita's single Can't Walk Away that is also a thoughtful piece about lonliness and the need for understanding. With unsettling suggestions of serial-killer obsessions, it is set in an urban loft-space in which a lonely man has created a wall of photos, newspaper clippings, post-it notes and other paraphernalia. All devoted to a long-lost love.

:: MUMBO JUMBO - Director Bevan Walsh - 10 mins ::
In this clever satire on urban paranoia, we join self-styled suburban warriors Gool, Rube and Simmo in their misguided attempt to do something for the 'war on terror'. Tony Blair and this week's Home Secretary would be proud.

:: NOTHING IS FREE - Director Andy Marsh - 5 mins ::
Innovative and unusual music video inspired by The Elephant Man and produced by students of Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College as part of their video production course.

:: THAT OLD PAIR OF JEANS - Director Steven Glashier - 4 mins ::
This second music video from prolific local film-maker, Glashier, features a new song from another local boy, Fatboy Slim. Totally different in style from the Juliette Lewis vid, this uplifting film features the world's greatest hula-hooper and was filmed on the hills overlooking Saltdean. Magnificent.

:: PROLONGED DELUSION - Director Ron Cliefe - 2 mins ::
Ambiguous and fascinating almost-ultrashort from a Northbook College film student features a Frank Sinatra look-alike performing a well known jazz standard, badly.

:: TELL - Director Liam Fogerty - 90 seconds ::
Even stranger film from another Northbrook College film student which he describes as 'A caught trajectory that considers the creative process'. Although the film is as obscure as its synopsis, it is visually compelling and makes good use of sound.

:: TOM BAKER - BESPOKE TAILOR - Director Mark Windows - 9 mins ::
Saville Row trained tailor/designer, Tom Baker (not the Dr Who actor) has made suits for the likes of Mick Jagger and Ant & Dec (!) and this odd-ball and highly watchable documentary focuses on his first solo show at London's famous 100 Club.

Note for the fashion conscious: Tom's next show is also at the 100 Club - on September 20th. So, if you want to rub shoulder-pads with Mick and Ant and, er, Dec why not give them a call? The 100 Club, that is, not Mick or Ant or, er, Dec.

:: TREASURE - Director Paul Olding - 10 mins ::
Beautifully filmed in B/W, this film follows an old man on his endless search for treasure on an isolated and windswept beach, using a home-made metal detector. An existential essay on isolation and the meaning of life, its central character is superbly acted by TV's Dudley Sutton.

:: RAPSTAR - Director Mat Sunderland - 4 mins ::
Fast-paced and very well produced music video satire featuring a 'world famous' rap group wandering through a series of animated hip hop graffiti-style backdrops of as they explain how to get on in the rap game.

:: THE SHOEWOMAN'S TALE - Director Mark Robbins - 5 mins ::
Gentle, engaging documentary profiling the work of shoe designer Nazina Douglas, revealing how this talented new designer customises her shoes. Original music score by Will Harding.

:: SYNAPSE - Director Emma Harding - 3 mins ::
Experimental short exploring the relationship between cause and effect via the relatively simple action of drinking a cup of coffee.

:: TOAST - Director Steve Hammal - 8 mins ::
In this well-made comedy of errors, we enter the regimented life of Ingmar who rises precisely at 07.19 each morning to shower, dress and prepare his civilised breakfast. But today, when his toast pops out of the toaster, black and inedible, it precipitates a series of events that threatens to wreck his perfectly synchronised routine.
