YOU'RE GONNA WAKE UP ONE MORNING - Director
Mark Jay - 28 mins ::
Fresh from its premiere screening at Soho's Curzon Cinema, this romantic comedy adventure is set in Brighton and tells the story of the unlikely pairing of two teenagers, a punk girl and a townie boy, who have somehow ended up on a blind date. While attempting to score some drugs, they're given the wrong stuff and then overhear a murder and robbery being planned by two hitmen...
Featuring legendary Punk/Rasta DJ and film-maker Don Letts as one of the hitmen, this film is about punk values - then and now - and also about taking a position and being aware that appearances can be deceptive.

:: SIDEBURNS - Director Lawrence Pearce - 4 mins ::
This is what happens when you admire your sideburns too much!
Sideburns premiered at London's Shoot & Slice last December and this is its first outing since then. An action comedy featuring some very unusual special effects which starts with a man admiring his huge sideburns in the wing-mirror of a car. As he walks away, his reflection emerges from the mirror armed with a razor blade and shaving foam - determined to punish his rival. But how? |

:: NAILS - Director Sigrun Lydsdottir - 5 mins ::
The inspiration for doing this piece came from
when I stopped eating my nails and realized I loved
making sounds and noises with my fingernails. Could
you play your fingernails like an instrument? This
film takes you on an audio visual journey where
fingernails are responsible for ALL the noises
ranging from tipping glass to water-pipes, scratching
chalk board to guitar cases, from pots and pans
to cardboard.
Nails has been screened at the Icelandic Film Festival, 'Short Cuts' (September 2002) and Jump Ship Rat, Liverpool (May 2002) |

:: JOYRIDER - Director Callum Morrison - 5 mins ::
A second outing for this talented animator who surprised and shocked last month's Final Cut audience with Motoring Britain, a
weird stop-frame animation featuring a laser-eyed
doll's head and several exploding police cars!
As usual, Callum refuses to provide us with a synopsis, but on the strength of last month's (burnt) offering, it will be worth the effort. |
