2005 BRIGHTON FESTIVAL FRINGE SCREENINGS ::
:: THURSDAY, MAY 26TH: HANBURY ARMS BALLROOM, KEMPTOWN, BRIGHTON ::
Our last-night
screening focused on the exotic as we unleashed
an exciting package of 30 ultra-shorts, left-field
music videos and other film goodies on an unsuspecting
city. The packed evening included a rare 'Netjacking'
performance from American musician and laptop guru,
Stuart Smith and the world premiere of 'No Man's
Land', a new computer-driven music-VJ piece from
Anglo-Burmese singer and composer, Fiona Soe Paing.
ONE MINUTE WONDER
We also premiered nine ultra-shorts completed by participants of our innovative 'One Minute Wonder' film course, co-funded by Awards For All and Screen South and with the support of Brighton's Lighthouse
Arts & Training and Electric Sky. Completed just days before the screening, these films were so new, the paint hadn't dried. A jury of film-makers including WIZ, one of the UK's most respected music video directors and Nick Broomfield's producer, Michele d'Acosta will view the results and award a 'best-film' prize. |
