'To tight for my girth by a length!' shouted the bookies as To Tight For My Girth, romped home in the final straight of the third annual space hopper race along Soho's Old Compton street. Five hopper-jockeys went head-to-head in a terrifying battle of wills and chronic chafing on these magnificent rubber beasts. 'Fantastic movers and a top field. I wish I could have raced' a veteran commentator lamented, kicking a dead hopper with a fatal puncture. 'They're under starters orders… they're off!'
