WEDNESDAY, MAY 24TH: HANBURY ARMS BALLROOM
::
We pulled out all the stops for our last-night screening party which presented a packed house with this exotic mix of ultra-shorts, left-field music videos and other weird stuff, washed down with film-themed DJ-VJ sets and Trailer Trash previews.The evening also featured a performance by fringe-hits Oddfellows Casino who performed a live music accompaniment to a specially commissioned silent film from tonight's VJ, Toby Amies, plus a rare Netjacking performance from US musician and laptop guru, Stuart Smith. |

:: YA GRANDMA'S A GANGSTA - Director Tim Greene - 4 mins ::
Hilarious US music video parody ostensibly promoting the latest release from a 65-year old black female rapper and US TV star, Vivian Smallwood, aka Rappin
Granny.
"Rappin Granny's 'Hip Hop Pop', promoted as 'Da Soda wit de flava', is a new line in soft drinks from Tim Green Entertainment and LA-based, Hip Hip Distributors." - story in Beveridge World's 'Periscope' magazine (film-makers promoting their own fizzy drinks? Only in America)

:: THE SPACE TIME ENVELOPE - Director James Harris - 3 mins ::
If you found an envelope that contained the whole space-time continuum, what would you do? You could go back in time to right historical wrongs or take a glimpse at the future or visit distant worlds and civilisations. Or you could use it to get some lunch money. You know, if you were really hungry.

:: PINCH ME JESUS - Director James Scott - 3 mins ::
Final festival outing for this clever bad-taste send up of American evangelical TV and its wall-to-wall money-grabbing 'ads. Totally authentic in look and feel, yet made in Hove. We love it!
"The truth, the whole truth…and
something like the truth." |

:: ILLEGAL - Director Robert Cambrinus - 12 mins ::
One of several film we have received on this subject, Illegal, is a well-acted drama about two immigrants who meet in a London café and strike up an unlikely friendship. The only thing they have in common is their illegal status and a shared sense of being a long way from home.
