THE CASE
Final Cut's first Sunday Session is a test screening and world premiere of a new British feature-length thriller shot entirely on location in Goa. This is writer/director Mark Warner's first full-length film and he fills it with an exotic mixture of mysticism, romance and danger with great performances from a largely unknown Indian and British cast plus the guest appearance of Goldie.
The film harks back to the old-fashioned caper movies with exotic locations, high body count and wry humour as it tells the story of professional thief, Vinny (aka The Mouse) on his last job: stealing a briefcase from local mafia boss, Big Leo. Vinny doesn't know what's inside, but he knows he must deliver it on time or die. Before he can hand the case over, it is stolen from him by a beautiful woman, Chiani, who picks him up in a bar. Vinny sets off on a frantic search for the woman, fearing his last job may be the last thing he ever does. And his fears are well-founded as Big Leo puts a hit-man on his trail...
Shooting of The Case took place over six weeks with cast and crew enduring scorching temperatures as they raced against time to complete principal photography before the monsoon rains struck. The final day's filming finished just three hours before the first deluge.
The Producers will be at the screening to talk about the film and to hand out reaction-questionnaires for the audience to complete.
