2005 BRIGHTON FESTIVAL FRINGE SCREENINGS ::

Final Cut kicked off its 2005 festival campaign with an exciting programme of thirteen new shorts, film-themed VJ sets and Trailer Trash teasers for new and almost-finished films.
The evening also featured the offical launch of FINAL CUT -TAKE ONE, a limited-edition DVD containing 16 of the best films we've screened during the past year. Click image for details.

Filmed in Brighton, this comedy drama features a grudge, a gun and two homeless women who turn the tables on a corrupt businessman. The adventure starts during a stroll on Brighton beach by Dora Bryan, currently appearing in TV's Last of the Summer Wine, who meets a determined and equally homeless girl played by Maria Trevis. Before long, she finds herself drawn into the girl's plan to take revenge on TVs Brian Plumber,
the rich entrepreneur who needs taking down peg.
'Someone In Particular' received its European premiere at Cannes later this month and Dora Bryan attended this screening. |

Superbly-made short from this talented young New York film-maker, recounting how a young woman arrives in New York City for the first time. In her new apartment she discovers an audio tape left behind by the previous tenant. She listens to the tape and is transported on a journey through the city, seeing it through the eyes of a poet preparing to leave forever.

With the big night looming, they reckon the place must be stuffed full of money, but after breaking in the lads discover its been locked in a safe. They decide to steal the safe, but get stuck in a lift on the way out. Only one solution: blow yourself to freedom with fireworks!
