SOMEONE IN PARTICULAR - Director Bryan Gartside - 18 mins

Filmed in Brighton, this comedy drama features a grudge, a gun and two homeless women who turn the tables on a corrupt businessman. The adventure starts during a stroll on Brighton beach by Dora Bryan, currently appearing in TV's Last of the Summer Wine, who meets a determined and equally homeless girl played by Maria Trevis. Before long, she finds herself drawn into the girl's plan to take revenge on TVs Brian Plumber, the rich entrepreneur who needs taking down a peg.

THE QUALITY OF MEMORY - Director James Browning - 10 mins

What does a person do when the bright lights of the big city lose their attraction? Some people return home, to safety and security, but nothing stays the same - especially people. After a long absence, three childhood friends meet up and find that they have moved on to a place where fond memories are the greatest illusion of all.

TIME LOOTERS - Director Ed Hartwell - 12 mins

Mad inventor, Rupert Tofton has built a time machine and intends to use it to find the hidden treasure of Big Beard The Pirate in this witty 'Pugwash' pastiche. Tofton's plan involves stealing Big Beard's treasure map from under his nose and hoping he doesn't notice. The various problems that ensue suggest that disguising the time machine as a Wendy House wasn't such a good idea after all.

SOLO PARTY - Director Sylvie Bolioli - 5 mins

A man waits at a grandly laid dinner table as two women prepare for a grand occasion. They appear to be destined to spend a pleasant evening together, but nothing is what it seems in this intriguing drama. With its ticking clocks and gothic look, the film creates a disturbing impression of intrigue, leading the audience quite literally down the garden path.

WHATEVER YOU WANT - Director James Browning - 10 mins

A terminally ill man looks to his family and friends for support, but finds only fear and disinterest, discovering in the process that it is possible to die before your time in more ways than one.

MIDAS - Director John Holloway - 10 mins

In this clever and well-made fantasy drama, we meet a homeless young man who has lost his family in a fire. Waking up one morning, he discovers that he has an amazing special ability, but how can he use it to rebuild his life? Highly original story with excellent special effects.

JOHNNY MAYBE & THE PORN STAR - Director Pat Garrett - 10 mins

Dreadful songs, dodgy performances, tone-deaf singing and a sexy female star feature in this genuinely bizarre Irish song 'n dance spectacular, produced in Hastings (!). With tongue firmly in cheek (well, we hope that's where it is), this story of unrequited love set in a luxurious country mansion will have you singing along and rolling in the aisles, probably at the same time. Our first musical!

JUST ONE MORE NIGHT - Director Pat Garrett - 6 mins

From the director of the hilarious 'alternative-musical', Johnny Maybe & The Porn Star, this very different one-hander is performed superbly by local actor, Nigel Osner who also wrote the title song's lyrics. A poignant tribute to faded celebrity, it tells the story of an almost-forgotten screen star ending a long career by performing wherever she can get a booking.

MEMORIES IN SPACES - Director Lou Trigg - 4 mins

Created for a Final Major project at Brighton & Hove City College, this remarkable stop-frame animation film uses a collection of different dolls to revisit events in her childhood. Some of the images are genuinely disturbing.
